Program Details
As a participant you will:
Be part of a cohort of 20 high school students
Have support from ELCP Project Coordinator to help access any resources needed to be successful in the project.
As a senior, upon completing the 3 courses, you may be eligible for a paid internship (stipend) and will receive support to qualify for a National Child Development Associate Credential (CDA).
Project funds cover:
Tuition at HawCC for a total of 9 credits for 3 courses:
ECED 105: Intro to Early Childhood Education
ECED 110: Developmentally Appropriate Practices
ECED 131: Early Childhood Development Theory Into Practices
Textbooks
First Aid/CPR certifications (valid for 2 years from being certified)
DHS background clearance (requirement for volunteering in a child care center)
Total value of completing the program: $4,500

Complete all the requirements needed. (dual credit form, placement test, and Hawaii Community College registration)
